I take Mounjaro a GLP-1. All the 3rd party compounders will probably be sued as drug patents are a thing. The manufacturer didn’t just package the delivery device. The drug was prescribed for me and it has been a miracle drug because my kidney function improved tremendously. Diabetes is a leading cause of kidney disease. There has not yet been a clinical trial for treatment of improved eGFR but it will be coming.
During my first 3 months of use, I lost 35 pounds. I did not exercise as my arthritis is too advanced. The drug did make me feel full before I finished eating, which is most likely the cause of weight loss. There are no side effects for me. If people experience nausea, it’s probably because they don’t stop eating soon enough. I eat slowly, but if you gobble down your food, I could see that being a problem. The other reported side effect is constipation. Well, you are eating less. As long as you are still eating fiber and drinking water, there won’t be constipation.
If you are diabetic, the drug certainly aids in metabolism of blood sugar. If you are taking it for weight loss, it could aid in carbohydrate metabolism, but if you are on a ketogenic diet, then it probably won’t do much of anything.
Something about today's society makes me believe John Kenneth Galbraith would have a plethora of great quotes to highlight the stupidity surrounding us.
I had to look it up - "Jump the Shark" has now lasted 46 years - it aired in 1977 and half the world remembers it like it was yesterday.
Your note led me to look up GLP-1 - their literature tells potential patients in addition to using this product - they should: change their diet, exercise, modify behavior, get bariatric surgery. Almost like the "natural" pills sold via multilevel marketing where advertising said - "I started taking shark fin pills and I also decided to stop smoking, drinking bourbon in the morning, eat more salads, and started running 10-K races every week - my health is so much better and I owe it all to the shark fin pills."

Simply fantastic as always. Thank you for the even-handed appraisal of a controversial and so-far-effective-but-anything-but-certain medication!!!
Thank you for sharing. I believe we are seeing the first chapters of a long book waiting to be written.
