1. Lurking Beneath the Surface at Apple
Trying to point out what might go wrong at Apple AAPL 0.00%↑ , or even what might be worth watching, has historically proven to be laughably irrelevant.
After all, it’s one of those companies that even if it does wrong, in the eyes of investors it can do no wrong… because it’s Apple.
The latest disappointment in iPhone sales was yet another example, with investors giving Apple a pass – as they did this past quarter.
The lure, this time, was guidance tied to the hope and hype of a major upgrade cycle related to the company’s AI push, better known as Apple Intelligence.
Beware…
None of this was a surprise to a group of friends who have been privately hoisting their own red flags about Apple since last July. They’ve been pointing out a general disconnect between street expectations for iPhone new-phone builds and the reality of sales. The stock from that point on, with the exception of one spike, has been flat.
As it turns out, the two things they have been warning most about appear to be materializing…
